There is too much to say

Too much to feel

But nothing could ever portray

The heartbreak I feel

 

I sit in the dark

I let my anguish grab me

But nothing could shackle me more

Than the heartache I feel

 

Tears have fallen

Some still remain

But nothing could wash away

The heartbreak I feel

 

Time lapses slowly

Minutes turn into hours

But nothing slithers through my veins

Than the heartache I feel

 

While I laugh and smile

The world joins in

But nothing could lessen

The heartbreak I feel

 

The words filter through my ears

The pain jabs my soul

But nothing could stop

The heartbreak I feel

 

The walls within me shift

The mind tells me not to feel

But nothing runs high

Than the heartache I feel

 

The flames engulf me

The burning is too much to handle

But nothing could blanch

The heartbreak I feel

 

The corners are sharper than knives

Barriers harder than brick

But nothing is more concrete

Than the heartache I feel

 

I am in command

There is nothing that can mow me down

But nothing could control

The heartbreak I feel

 

Time is not a healer

It is just a breather

As nothing could filter out

The aches and breaks I feel
